Open Auditions April 5th

Auditions are open for the 13th Columbus Black Theatre Festival. Prepare a 90 second contrasting monologue for the audition.  Call backs will be same day so plan to stay if asked to read sides of the plays for the directors. If you can’t make it to the in-person audition you can send in a 90 second video audition tape before Thursday, April 6th for directors to consider you for a video call back via Zoom.  Non-Union. Paid and Comp Tickets.

Actors Needed: Youth/ teens/adults/seniors, all races, genders, sexuality, disabilities, and ethnicities welcomed. 

Rehearsals: Directors will determine schedule depending on their/cast needs, based on the following days/times starting May 2025: Sundays:  between hours of 1:00 – 5:00 PM, Mon-Thurs: 6:00 – 8:00 PM Saturdays: Between hours of 2:00 – 6:00 PM.

Rehearsal Place(s): MLK Branch: 1467 E. Long St., Columbus, OH 43203. Shepard Branch: 850 N. Nelson Rd. Columbus, OH 43219.  Whitehall Branch: 4445 E. Broad St. Columbus, OH 43213.

Tech: June 30th to July 3rd. (Off July 4th) Performance: July 5th (2 shows) & 6th, 2025.

ALL CAST 1st & 2nd Readings of all plays is Thursday, May 1st, 6:00 – 8:00 PM and Saturday May 3rd 2:00 - 4:30 pm.
